Now in public preview, the Power Apps wrap wizard enables users to create native mobile apps for iOS and Android with low-code simplicity.
For organisations looking to deploy Power Apps Canvas Apps to their users, a new tool has been introduced by Microsoft that simplifies the process.

Where can I deploy my apps?
The wrapped apps can be distributed to:
How are updates to the original Canvas App handled?
All amendments published to an app that has been included in a wrapped mobile package will be automatically downloaded by your distributed native mobile apps.
How do I wrap an app?
- Sign in to Power Apps.
- Select Apps, from the left navigation pane.
- Select the app that you want to wrap, and then select Wrap on the tool bar.
- Follow the simple wrap wizard steps to complete the packaging of your app.
Are there any limitations?
Currently, Wrap only supports Multitenant account types. A Multitenant account is one that supports users logging in with either their work or school accounts.
Summary
It’s great to see Microsoft making it easy to roll out professionally-branded low-code apps. Although the technology is currently in preview and should be used with care, it should not take long for the functionality to reach general availability and prove helpful for organisations looking to push their apps to mobile devices without the need for the base Power Apps app. If you are an existing Strategy 365 client and want to discuss how the wrapping of apps can help your business, please get in touch with one of our experts.
