For mobile devices, push notifications have long been used by apps to keep users informed; now they are available for model-driven Power Apps
The new functionality uses the Power Automate connector, Power Apps Notifications V2 and can be used with any of the existing trigger actions to notify a user of an update through their mobile device running a model-driven app.
How do I create a notification?
There are two steps to the process:
- Create a new Power Automate Flow, or modify an existing one, selecting the appropriate trigger. For instance, you may want to sent a notification when a new sales lead has been created:
- Add a Send push notification V2 action and complete the appropriate options, selecting which app and user needs to receive the notifications:
Now, whenever a new Lead is created, a push notification will appear on the selected user’s device:
These notifications work with the Power Apps mobile app that runs both canvas and model-driven apps and the same connector can also be used in flows to create push notifications for the new Field Service (Dynamics 365) mobile app.
